Linda Sweeny is a contemporary realist artist who divides her time between Sydney and Paris, working chiefly in oil on linen. She also produces a large body of drawings in pencil. Her works are all taken directly from life, not from photographs. Linda’s paintings of figurative, still life, portrait studies, as well as time-worn interior scenes, aged utensils and landscape studies, are done with a great sensitivity to her subject. Her work often evokes a strong emotional connection that lingers with the viewer.
